Supremely silky and serene, this possesses depths of ripe red and black fruit underscored by saline minerals. A hint of sour citrus adds lovely complexity. Black olive combines with salted licorice and a pleasantly bitter blackberry tinge as the 2021 finishes dramatically long and structured, with a framework of fine tannins that punctuate the experience beautifully.

Another brilliant wine from this up-and-coming estate, the 2021 Syrah Rockgarden Vineyard is all varietal that saw 25% stems and is still resting in a mix of new and used French oak foudre and larger barrels. Rocking levels of red and blue fruits, spring flowers, pepper, and lavender emerge on the nose, and it’s medium to full-bodied, with a polished, seamless mouthfeel and awesome tannins.
