2016 Umani Ronchi San Lorenzo Rosso Conero

Here I’m finding a mix of tart black cherry and raspberry, plus dusty spices and hints of undergrowth. Dark fruits and savory herbs, with a twang of sour citrus and saturating minerality all develop. The finish is medium in length and dry, resonating on inner florals and a hint of citrus-infused blackberry. The 2016 Umani Ronchi San Lorenzo shows the purity of Montepulciano fruit, yet I find it to be a bit one-dimensional.
