Soft pale gold, rich apricot and apple blossom on the nose, apricot puree on the palate, fairly sweet but well matched by acidity and lime zest, a slow uncurling of campfire smoke, very pretty and charming. Owner Counts de Vaucelles. 1/3 new oak.

The 2024 Filhot has a rather Germanic, Riesling-tinged bouquet that is missing some complexity and botrytis. The palate is simple with sour lemon on the entry, moderate weight but sadly it's just missing purity and unctuosity on the finish.
