At 13.05%, this is the lowest-ever alcohol wine produced at Le Dôme – and that’s reflective of a wine that is much more restrained this year. The nose is dark and brooding, with a lift of violet florals. Vibrant and juicy, chalky tannins frame the lush palate, with riper plum evolving into brighter redcurrant on the mouthwatering finish. 3.86pH. Blend: 80% Cabernet Franc, 20% Merlot

Looking at the 2024 Le Dome, it checks in as 80% Cabernet Franc and 20% Merlot that will spend 16-18 months in 80% new oak. It has a deep purple hue as well as rocking aromatics of ripe black fruits, red currants, roasted herbs, graphite, and spring flowers. It picks up a distinct minerality with time in the glass and is medium to full-bodied, has a pure, elegant, finesse-driven mouthfeel, fine yet present tannins, and a great finish.
Some pretty intense smoky oak notes on the opening, this has smooth if chunky tannins, a success in the vintage, cassis and bilberry fruits, slightly overpowering cloves, grilled sandalwood, coffee and cocoa bean, has character and estate signature, atypical for the year. Harvest 1 to 7 October. 3.78 pH No chaptilisation. 3.78 pH, 32hl/hha, 80% new oak.
The 2024 Le Dome was picked October 1 to 7 and matured in 80% new oak. There is admirable purity on the nose of this Cabernet Franc-dominated blend, more refined than those produced a decade back with blackberry, liquorice, a pinch of white pepper and cumin. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannins, moderate weight, a fresh line of acidity and a sapid finish. This is a finely crafted Le Dome that should offer up to 20 years' drinking pleasure. 13.05% abv.

The man behind highly regarded Saint-Émilion wine Le Dôme is a Nigerian-born Brit who sold his engineering firm in 1992 to move to Cahors and restore a pile of ruins. After meeting a local vineyard owner at a dinner party, he ended up selling his production to Oddbins and was caught by the wine bug.
