Latour-Martillac Blanc is especially expressive this year, with notes of ripe apricot and lemon zest which soar from the glass. There’s a core of intense, generous mango and pineapple fruit. The palate is mouth-coating, rich and dense, countered by a spine of sappy acidity that gently builds through to the finish. The tannins are faint and well-rounded. Blend: 60% Sauvignon Blanc, 40% Semillon

Jasmine, honeysuckle, apricot and nectarine, citron pressé and tarte au citron. A little blanched almond and also fennel fronds. This is exquisite and, rather like Larrivet Haut-Brion tasted alongside, it has a very vertical, almost hour-glass shape in the mouth. Tactile and dynamic and ultra-refreshing in its sapidity, this is a great success. I love the zestiness of the finish.
The 2024 Château Latour-Martillac Blanc is based on 55% Sauvignon Blanc and 45% Semillon, showing the racy, bright style of the vintage. Clean citrus, lime, crushed stone, and mint all emerge from this medium-bodied white, which stays bright and racy on the palate, with good purity and high yet integrated acidity.
Notes of lime, confit citrus and herbs preface the 2024 Blanc from Latour Martillac, a moderately weighted, supple and lively wine with tangy acids and a short, citrusy finish.
