Coming from the northern part of Saint-Émilion, the 2024 Château Grand Corbin Despagne is a blend of 84% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Franc, and 1% Cabernet Sauvignon. Darker berries, juicy cassis, violets, and spicy oak all emerge from this beauty, and it's medium-bodied, with a pretty, pure, elegant mouthfeel, plenty of mid-palate depth, ripe tannins, and outstanding length.

The 2024 Grand Corbin-Despagne is a strong effort, offering up aromas of sweet berries and new oak, followed by a medium to full-bodied, layered and lively palate with good depth and density.
Grilled cedar and sandalwood oak is clear on the opening, along with touches of incense and rose petals, and there are some lovely deep raspberry and red cherry fruit notes, well balanced and sappy. No need to wait too long, good quality. A vintage where being present in the vineyard and making choices throughout was key, making François Despagne a winemaker to look towards.
The 2024 Grand Corbin Despagne has a nicely composed and harmonious nose, with pretty red fruit and well-integrated oak. The palate is medium-bodied, graceful and poised, with light tannins, gentle grip and a minerally finish.
