Punteggio 92/100 · Da bere 2026-2035, Jane Anson, Inside Bordeaux, Apr 2025

Dense and well-extracted blackberry fruits, silky tannins, touch of raspberry puree, grilled cumin, cloves, toast, plenty of appellation signature even if the final impression is savoury and fresh, as the acidities kick in on the close of play. 4% press. 58% new oak for ageing.

The 2024 Domaine de L'Eglise is broad and ample in the glass. Black cherry, new leather, cloves, incense, licorice, chocolate and dried herbs are dialed up in this decidedly heady, dense Pomerol. There's no shortage of depth or resonance here. It will be so interesting to see how this develops. The 2024 is certainly promising.

The 2024 Domaine de l'Eglise was picked between September 20 and October 5. It was raised in 58% new oak for a planned 16 months. This has a winsome bouquet with pure blackberry and wild strawberry scents, joined by black truffle and mocha notes with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannins. Light but well balanced, this Pomerol has more weight on the finish compared to its stablemate, La Croix du Casse. This is a "useful" Pomerol.

Punteggio 91-93/100 · Da bere 2028-2040, Jeff Leve, The Wine Cellar Insider, Apr 2025

Flowers, black cherries, licorice, and chocolate form the profile for this medium-bodied, soft-textured, refined, elegant, fresh, black plum and cherry-filled wine. Delicate, but, not light, the wine will offer its charms early, but it also has the ability to age for up to 2 decades. The wine blends 98% Merlot with 2% Cabernet Franc. 14% ABV. Harvesting took place September 20 - October 5.
