Note di degustazione
Plump, sappy, lovely texture, juicy black fruits, mouthwatering finish, this is easily one of the best wines of Castillon, finding the joy in the vintage. Perhaps benefitted from Stéphane Derenoncourt spending more time in his own vineyard now that he has stepped back from the consultancy - this was definitely the right year for it. Likely to see two years after bottling before release, ageing in a mix of 500l and 2,000 casks. 25% new oak.

Excellent depth for the vintage, showing blackberries, dark cherries and cocoa powder. Tannins are quite firm and structured but also dusty in texture. It’s juicy and medium- to full-bodied with a long, linear finish. A very good wine.
