Punteggio 91/100 · Da bere 2030-2042, Jane Anson, Inside Bordeaux, Apr 2025

A little chalky, takes its time unfurling its black fruits, this is good quality, touch of leafy raspberry and cassis bud, with liquorice, slate, crayon, impressive construction and slow build. Left Bank signature. Famille Roulleau. 90% in oak, 65% new, the remaining 10% in amphoras.

The 2024 Dauzac is laced with ripe red cherry, kirsch, mint, sweet spice and blood orange. Aromatic and fruity, with good persistence, Dauzac is not as texturally opulent or oaky as it can be. That's not a bad thing at all.

The 2024 Dauzac was picked between September 23 and October 7 and aged in 65% new oak with a light "blonde" toasting. This has a straight-down-the-line, finely delineated Margaux bouquet with those prerequisite crushed violet aromas infusing the black fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with fine grip, structure and commendable substance toward the finish. This certainly has more substance than some of its peers and is one of the few that will benefit from some bottle age.

Black cherries, currants, espresso, tobacco, and spice kick off the aromatic profile. On the palate, the wine is vibrant, chewy, and charming with its display of deep red fruits, savory herbs, and spice on the palate, which you also taste and feel in the finish. The wine blends 77% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 23% Merlot. 13% ABV.
