Delivers texture and flesh, love the aromatics that are sweet without being heavy, this has restraint and carefully-measured fleshy fruits, nectarine, pineapple, white peaches, lime zest, gunsmoke, perfectly-judged acidities. One of the wines of the vintage, great stuff from Philippe and Aline Baly.

Butterscotch, ginger snaps, pineapples, candied orange and zesty lemons fill the nose. The palate is fresh, and lively, with a focus on its core of sweet yellow citrus and juicy pineapples. The wine blends 99% Semillon with 1% Sauvignon Blanc, and a drizzle of Muscadelle.
Dried mangoes, pineapple, sweet lemons and some dried durian. Nicely unctuous with a long, flavorful finish. Waxy and medium- to full-bodied for a Barsac.
98.9% Sémillon, 1% Sauvignon Blanc and 0.1% Muscadelle. Cask sample. Pale gold hue. Citrus notes on the nose. Palate rich but restrained, the fruit present. Clean, fresh finish. Less overt botrytis but balanced. (JL)

Classified as a First Growth in 1855, this Barsac property has a history stretching back to the 14th century. Today it has 38.5 hectares of vineyard, producing brilliant sweet wines cut by taut acidity. In certain years, it produces Cuvée Madame, pure botrytised Semillon from its oldest vines.
