FINE+RARE, Apr 2025

The 2024 Cos d’Estournel Blanc is a good as any of the whites produced in the vintage. The nose is brimming with notes of lemon peel and green apple. The mid-palate is so precise, with an opulence to the estate’s Semillon that feels more present in the blend than in previous years. Great mineral tension drives the long finish, thanks to carefully managed acidity. This 2024 is wonderfully balanced. 12.24% alcohol, 3.04pH. Blend: 60% Sauvignon Blanc, 40% Semillon

Features notes of fresh lemon juice, grapefruit, and lime leaves, with touches of sea spray and yuzu. The light-bodied palate delivers intense citrus flavors with chalky sparks and a crisp backbone, finishing with impressive length.

In contrast, the 2024 Château Cos D'Estournel Blanc is more Sauvignon Blanc-dominated and is based on 60% Sauvignon Blanc and 40% Semillon, resting all in just 8% new oak. It's cut from the same cloth as the Pagodes and has racy citrus, lime, crushed stone, and minty, grassy nuances as well as medium-bodied richness on the palate. It's balanced and has a layered, elegant mouthfeel and outstanding length.
