Full bottle 1,207 g. 80% Sauvignon Blanc, 20% Sémillon. Hand-picked. Seven to 10 days alcoholic fermentation in barrels with temperature control at 20–25 °C. Aged in 30% new barrels and 70% second-use barrels for 10 months. Stirring of lees once a week and at the end, every 15 days. Made by Arnaud Thomassin. Certified sustainable (HVE). The faint scent of orange blossom and honey on the nose. Strata of citrus and glittering minerality, green peach and molle aromatics, Sichuan pepper. Very structured and firm, with white-knuckle clench on the finish. The focus is very pure, intent on the race from start to finish. (TC)

Bright red and black fruits, graphite, sappy herbs, and flowers emerge from the 2024 Château De France, with background graphite and scorched earth notes. Medium-bodied, nicely focused, amd balanced, with polished tannins, this should be outstanding.
Very red-berry fruited – strikingly different in that respect from the others in the UGC line-up – with leafy redcurrant, cranberry and even pink gooseberry notes. That makes this sound tarter than it is – for it’s actually sweeter on the palate than that implies. Supple and subtle, but quite energetic and dynamic. Fresh but never tart nor astringent nor dry. Distinctive. I rather like this. A property on an upwards track.
Deep garnet-purple colored. Has a nose of stewed strawberries and boysenberries, followed by hints of dried sage and wet slate. The light-bodied palate is lean and chewy with an abrupt finish.

Neighbouring Ch. de Fieuzal, Ch. de France has been making wine since the 17th century. Purchased by the Thomassin family in 1971, investment has been significant – as has the associated rise in quality.
