Note di degustazione
Good medium-dark red. Deep aromas of redcurrant and smoke show less fruity perfume than this wine did from barrel. Plush and sweet in the mouth, with an almost liqueur-like quality to its deep red fruit and soil flavors; a kiss of kirsch is probably due to the old pinot fin vines in Remoissenet's two parcels of true Charmes. The wonderfully full finish displays refined tannins. Surprisingly accessible now, this wine also has the stuffing to age.

(Remoissenet owns two parcels of 60+-year-old vines at the northern end of true Charmes, according to Rovani; 40% new oak): Deep, bright dark red. Sexy aromas of raspberry and truffley underbrush. Precise and perfumed in the mouth, showing terrific energy and grip to its complex flavors of red fruits, flowers and earth. Shows the sweetness and aromatic lift of Pinot Fin vines. The spicy, slowly building finish boasts terrific high-pitched perfume. Classic scented "true" Charmes.
The 2014 Charmes Chambertin, from estate fruit, was a little shut down compared to the Clos Vougeot. Stubborn and obdurate at the moment, though the palate is harmonious and fresh, quite linear at the moment with a certain strictness on the finish that has just a touch of bitterness. Hopefully, it will pull its socks up by the time of bottling.
