(from the estate's highest and steepest vineyard, picked first): Good bright ruby. Medicinal black fruits and smoky minerality on the distinctly rocky nose. Silky on entry, then broad, plush and deep, with a layered texture to the dark berry, chocolate and violet flavors. Lovely inner-mouth energy. Most impressive today on the firmly tannic finish, which features a piquant hint of citrus peel and terrific grip. An outstanding vintage for this bottling.

Harris's 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon Treva's Vineyard is the deepest, fleshiest wine of these 2010s. It brings together a rich expression of fruit allied to firm mountain tannins. Blue and black fruits, grilled savory herbs, tobacco, smoke and leather all come to life in a towering, brooding Cabernet Sauvignon loaded with pure intensity and pedigree. I can't wait to see how the 2010 develops over the coming years.

Harris’s 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon Treva’s Vineyard is the deepest, fleshiest wine of these 2010s. It brings together a rich expression of fruit allied to firm mountain tannins. I can’t wait to see how the 2010 develops over the coming years. Anticipated maturity: 2020-2030. I was deeply struck with the wines I tasted from Harris Estate Vineyards this year. The vineyards are located on the lower slopes of Diamond Mountain. Three separate blocks correspond to the Jake’s Creek, Lakeview and Treva’s Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignons. The 2010s have turned out as good or better than I hoped based on last year’s tastings from barrel, while the 2011s, wines from a much more difficult vintage, are solid across the board. Tel. Wild aromas of blackberry, crushed rock, wet cement and mocha; smells tannic. Densely packed and powerful, but with firm acidity giving shape and lift to the musky dark fruit and coffee flavors. A bit more sharply delineated than the 2009 version but is it as dense? The long finish shows youthfully tough tannins that will require at least a few years of bottle aging.
