Note di degustazione
While the 2018 was more classically constructed, the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon West Wall reflects the warmth of the vintage, combining notes of Ribena and dark chocolate. Full-bodied, rich, warm and velvety, it's a chocolate lava cake of a Cabernet, oozing with decadence and being somewhat over the top yet still capable of providing immense pleasure.

All Cabernet aged 22 months in 70% new oak, the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon West Wall has a rich, concentrated, medium to full-bodied style as well as lots of darker red and black currant fruits, plenty of chocolaty oak, notes of tobacco and dried herbs, ripe tannins, and a great finish. It's a beautifully layered, ripe, textured 2019 to drink over the coming 10-15 years. 300 cases.
Mulberries, plums, dried herbs, cedar, roasted vanilla beans and dried earth on the nose. Full-bodied with chewy tannins and fresh acidity. Structured, with a polished, tight finish. Try after 2023.
The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon West Wall is a very pretty wine from Jericho Canyon. It offers up an exciting mélange of dark red cherry/red plum, white pepper, chalk, mint, spice, blood orange and wild flowers. This mid-weight, savory Cabernet is surprisingly approachable. It should drink well with just a few years in bottle. (AG)
