There are 82 cases of the 2017 Cabernet Franc, and it’s a blend of 76% Cabernet Franc, 17% Merlot, and the balance Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, and Malbec brought up in plenty of new oak. This dense purple-hued beauty boasts a big nose of exotic flowers, white chocolate, vanilla bean, cedary spices, and mulled red and black fruits. Straight up seamless on the palate, it’s full-bodied, has terrific tannins, no hard edges, and a great finish. Drink this sexy, exuberant Cabernet Franc anytime over the coming 10-15 years. It’s a worthy follow on to the stunning 2016.

Composed of 76% Cabernet Franc, 17% Merlot, 6% Cabernet Sauvignon, 1% Petit Verdot and 1% Malbec, coming from Howell Mountain, Pritchard Hill and Atlas Peak, the 2017 Cabernet Franc displays a deep, vibrant garnet-purple color. It springs from the glass with bold black raspberry, Morello cherries, wild blueberries and spice cake scents plus hints of menthol, pencil shavings and red roses. Medium to full-bodied, the palate delivers bags of juicy red and blue fruit layers with a solid, grainy texture and plenty of freshness to support, finishing long and perfumed. 88 cases were made.
