Punteggio 92/100 · Da bere 2013, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Aug 2012

The 2010 Chablis Fourchaume boasts an intense core of minerality. There is a pointedness and focus to the 2010 that is striking. At the same time, the fruit is rich, supple and generous. All of that adds up to a complete, gorgeous Chablis bursting with class and pedigree. Fans of the domaine will adore the 2010. Ideally, the 2010 needs at least another year in bottle, if not more.

Anticipated maturity: 2013+. Francis Boudin is a simple, straightforward man, and so are his wines. Boudin describes the 2011s as having a lot of fruit, but not a lot of acidity. Accordingly, he thinks they need to be drunk within the next 2-3 years. Boudin says the 2010s are vins de garde, and can last 5-6 years because of their higher acidity. Personally, I would like to think the 2010s will last a little longer than that, especially if stored properly. The Chantemerle wines are mid-weight, genuine offerings that capture the rustic, artisan side of Chablis. The best wines can be compelling, but in lesser years, the wines are much less interesting. A little weightier than some on the nose. Lots of acidity but creamy texture too. Still youthful but promising. GV (JR)

The 2010 Chablis Fourchaume shows gorgeous mid-palate pliancy and presence, with layers of white peaches, flowers and crushed rocks that flow effortlessly from its mid-weight frame. The wine's inner perfume, bright aromatics and persistent minerality are all beautifully woven together in this harmonious Chablis.
