Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Brinkman Block needs a little swirling to reveal subtle notions of black cherry preserves, warm cassis and boysenberries with hints of tar, new leather, clove oil and fragrant soil. Medium to full-bodied, the palate is chock-full of taut, muscular black fruit with a grainy texture and loads of freshness, finishing long and earthy.
