Punteggio 90/100 · Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, May 2014

Bright yellow. Vibrant pineapple and quince scents are given depth by smoky lees and honey accents. Offers juicy tropical and orchard fruit flavors that are lifted and braced by a bitter citrus zest quality and a hint of chalky minerals. Chewy and focused on the clinging finish, with the citrus and mineral notes repeating. This wine was raised in a combination of stainless steel and concrete eggs.

Punteggio 87/100 · Da bere 2013-2017, Robert Parker, Dec 2013

The non-oaked cuvee (fermented in concrete eggs and aged in stainless steel), the 2011 Chardonnay Durell Vineyard Origin exhibits a similar color as well as lots of yeasty hazelnut notes and a smoky character that suggests oak aging, but that is dissipated completely by the fresh, steely, citrus notes in the mouth. Drink this lively, rich, attractive Chardonnay over the next 3-4 years. I tasted three Pinot Noirs from this winery owned by entrepreneur and vineyard empire builder William S. Price, III. Tel.
