Note di degustazione
The 2016 Pinot Noir Tripp's Block is a classic Pinot Noir from Mendocino. It reveals a light ruby color as well as a complex perfume of mulberries, cherries, dried earth, forest floor, and savory spices. Elegant, medium-bodied, and silky on the palate, it shines for its balance, purity, and elegance as well as complexity. Capable of drinking nicely for 10-15 years, it's the finest vintage to date for this cuvée.

Donelan's 2016 Pinot Noir Tripp's Block shows the nuance and delineation typical of wines from high-altitude sites in Mendocino. Mint, pine, lavender and red cherry fruit flavors are given an extra kick of vibrancy by bright, mouthwatering acids. I would give the 2016 another year or so in bottle to soften. There is plenty to look forward to.
The 2016 Pinot Noir Tripp's Block comes from the Perli vineyard in Mendocino, located at 2,200 feet of elevation, above the fog line and seven miles from the coast. It was aged in 30% new oak for 18 months, and 20% whole cluster was used. Pale to medium garnet in color, it offers cloves, cinnamon, dusty leaves, potpourri and dried orange peel spices on the nose with a core of bright red and black fruits. Light to medium-bodied, it has a good core of earthy/spicy fruit in the mouth with juicy acidity and a long, flavorful finish. 246 cases produced.
