Tasted blind. Very deep crimson. Inky and fresh and gorgeous! Though it finishes quite tannic at the moment. Luscious mulberry fruit and very dry finish. Very different beginning and end but it may well reach a glorious denouement. 17/20 points
Tons of ripe plum and blackberry fruit on the nose and, with aeration, licorice and old balsamic-vinegar notes also develop. Rich and beautifully balanced, with surprising elegance for the very warm vintage. Bold and quite tannic finish.
Tasted blind. Blackish crimson. Intense, bloody and complex on the nose. Really fills the palate! But has delicacy too. How does it manage this? Just such lift and grace. Masses of tannin almost buried underneath. (JR)
