Note di degustazione
There are only 700 cases of the 2008 Kai Carmenere (which contains 5% Syrah and 3% Petit Verdot in its blend). It too displays a touch of herbs along with exotic spices, incense, black cherry, and blueberry. Rich and velvety-textured, it has enough structure to evolve for 2-3 years at which point it may exhibit greater complexity but, for the moment, it is hard to justify the lofty price tag. Errazuriz, under the direction of Eduardo Chadwick, turns out a bevy of wines of exceptional value and quality. Importer: Vintus Wines, Pleasantville, NY; www.vintuswines.com

(includes 5% syrah and 3% petit verdot) Opaque ruby. Highly perfumed aromas of dark berry preserves, gingerbread, licorice and white pepper, with an assertive floral quality. Broad, palate-staining black raspberry and boysenberry flavors are lifted by a tangy mineral note and complicated by violet and Asian spices. Brightens up with aeration, ultimately offering an intriguing blend of richness and vivacity. The long, sappy finish echoes the floral and spice notes and shows excellent clarity.
