2018 Azienda Agricola Sofia La Vigna di Gioacchino Rosso Etna

The 2018 Etna Rosso Gioaccchino, a varietal Nerello Mascalese, impresses with a perfumed bouquet full of rosy florals, mint, blackberry and nuances of sweet spice. It’s soft in feel, displaying ripe red and black fruits framed by saline-minerality. This tapers off refreshing with a buzz of residual acids, contrasted by a tart and crunchy twang of pomegranate. A very pretty Etna Rosso, but for the price point, I expect more depth.
