2016 Montenidoli - Rosso Toscana Sono Montenidoli

The 2016 Sono Montenidoli is far better this year than it was last year. I suspect a flawed bottle was the culprit in my earlier tasting, but I have to say the corks here are not exactly impressive. Today the 2016 offers up a classic Sangiovese profile of red fruits, cedar, underbrush, tobacco and licorice. Like al the reds here, there is some rusticity in the tannins, but also a ton of varietal expression and sheer character.
