The 2000 Barolo Riserva Vecchie Vigne in Mariondino is terrific. Mariondino is one of Parusso's least well-exposed parcels; consequently the wines tend to show best in warm vintages that allow for even ripening. Layers of dark fruit, leather, licorice and spices flow effortlessly from this rich, textured Barolo. The Mariondino possesses gorgeous vibrancy and freshness as it builds towards a powerful finish.
