Jade Mountain's 1997 Syrah Hudson Vineyard is structured, closed, and tight-knit. Nevertheless, it reveals deep, weighty black fruit scents and melted asphalt in the bouquet, along with full-bodied, powerful flavors and a hefty finish. Sweet tannin, low acidity, and superb ripeness characterize this full-throttle Syrah. It will benefit from 6-8 months of bottle age and can be drunk over the following 12+ years. Tel. (707) 965-3084

Dark ruby-red. Expressive aromas of black raspberry, dark chocolate and coffee. Dense but somewhat unforthcoming flavors of black fruits and oak spice. The wine pliant texture and ripe acids suggest that all it needs is a year or two in bottle. Finishes with firm but sweet tannins and very good length.
