Punteggio 94/100 · Da bere 2026-2038, Virginie Boone, jebdunnuck.com, Feb 2026

The NV Brut Rose is a blend of 55% Pinot Noir and 45% Chardonnay with 10-12% of wine from cask in the bottle, representing five to seven vintages’ worth of wine two to seven years old. There’s less reserve here than in the Brut, and the Pinot Noir makes it more expansive, with a more rounded texture. The wine is also quite structured. There’s a bright purity of cranberry and red cherry happening on the medium-bodied palate. Disgorged August 2023 with around 8 grams per liter dosage. Drink now and for the next 10-12 years.

Punteggio 94/100 · Da bere 2025-2035, Jeb Dunnuck, Feb 2025

Gorgeously pretty in a salmon hue, the MV Brut Rose is a blend of 56% Pinot Noir and 44% Chardonnay given additional complexity from 10 to 15% oak-aged wines from the estate's reserve cellars. Disgorged in May 2023. It has a dosage of 8 grams per liter and is delightfully precise in nature, fully balanced between red fruit and acidity, with a rounded mid-palate and enduring finesse to the mousse. The acidity and structure are solidly impressive and should give the wine plenty of time to age through 2035, if not beyond. Champagne Louis Roederer started planting grapes in the Anderson Valley in 1982, when California sparkling wine wasn’t yet a thing. Over time, this Philo-based outpost and production facility known as Roederer Estate has become entirely estate-grown, now farming 600 acres of organically and biodynamically farmed vines in the area, which estate winemaker Arnaud Weyrich says has higher acidity on average than Champagne. The winery’s signature style is to add oak-aged reserve wines to each year’s cuvée.

The NV Brut Rosé has a medium onion skin color and scents of citrus peel, potpourri, dried herbs and toast. The medium-bodied palate has savory flavors, tangy acidity and a touch of bitterness on the finish.
