2012 Signorello Cabernet Sauvignon Athena

The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Athena, a blend of 91% Cabernet Sauvignon and 9% Cabernet Franc with limited production, comes from a single clone – 337 – and is essentially a small, 130-case lot that would have ultimately gone into Padrone, if not pulled out for this separate cuvée. The wine is slightly more elegant, with blue, red and black fruits, spring flowers, medium to full body and sweet tannin. It should drink nicely for 15-20 years.
