Stylish and lean but with enough flesh to give grip and body. Laser-guided apple fruit with gorgeous milky, leesy notes on the finish. (RH)

Fermented and aged for 10 months in 30% new barrels. Though this wine is taut and reticent currently, air over a couple of days reveals more. The aromatics open with citrus and flint with hints of toasted biscuit followed on the palate by grapefruit pith and accents of evergreen. A pleasing wash of acidity through a long finish, with nice approachability and plenty of length. Give this wine a bit of time in the cellar. (ECB)
Whole cluster pressed in barrels and with 11 months ageing plus six months in stainless steel, the 2014 Chardonnay Seven Springs Vineyard has a straightforward bouquet with resinous aromas infusing the lightly honeyed fruit, just a hint of white chocolate in the background. The palate is well balanced, quite natural, but perhaps just missing a little tension with a chalky finish. This is fine, but there is better to come.
