2018 Cruse Wine Co. Valdiguié Sparkling Rancho Chimiles Vineyard

Michael Cruse notes that there are no additives at all in the 2018 Sparkling Deming Valdiguié Pétillant Naturel, including sulfur, sugar and yeast. Grapes for this wine came from more than 60-year-old bush-trained vines just south of Calistoga. It has a very pale cherry-pink color and aromas of white strawberries, prosciutto, petrichor, pear and apple fruit with baker’s yeast nuances. It's light to medium-bodied, dry, fresh and crisp in the mouth with very lively, foamy mousse and crisp acidity on the finish. 240 cases produced.
