The 2016 Couhins-Lurton is a delicious, fruity wine to drink now and over the next few years, while the jammy, red berry fruit retains its youthful vibrancy. Expressive spice notes add nuance to the super-ripe red plum fruit.
The 2016 Couhins-Lurton is medium to deep garnet-purple in color and has a plummy nose with underlying forest floor, bay leaves, yeast extract and unsmoked cigars scents plus a waft of pencil shavings. Medium-bodied and firmly framed with ripe, grainy tannins, it has great energy and freshness, finishing with lingering crushed rocks and savory hints.
