2012 The Hess Collection Red Auction Lot 11 Small Block

The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate Mount Veeder (80% Cabernet Sauvignon and 20% Malbec) was one of the top wines presented to me. This wine needs another 4-5 years of cellaring and could keep 30 years. A beautiful nose of white flowers, graphite, blueberry and blackberry liqueur, along with the telltale cassis and tobacco leaf are all present in this wine, which offers great intensity and full-bodied power in a well-delineated and moderately structured style. Give the wine some time and watch it unfold. Anticipated maturity: 2020-2025+. For the quality, it is a reasonably priced wine, and there are 7,480 cases.
