Pale ruby, the 2018 Pinot Noir Hope Well has appealing broody aromas of tar, blackberries, laurel and turned earth with floral nuances. The medium-bodied palate has a firm, fresh frame of layered fruits and loads of nuance on the finish. It's lovely now but has what it takes to age well in the cellar.

Deep, shimmering scarlet. A highly perfumed bouquet evokes red fruit preserves, incense and potpourri, along with building mineral and exotic spice accents. Juicy, appealingly sweet and concentrated on the palate, offering intense raspberry, cherry liqueur and spicecake flavors that become livelier with air. Delivers solid punch but comes off graceful, especially for the vintage, showing no rough edges on the very long, floral-driven finish.
