The 2018 Red Blend La Castellana is 76% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Merlot, and the rest Sangiovese, which is a variety you don't often see in the valley. Beautiful redcurrant and mulberry fruits as well as notes of chocolate and cedary herbs emerge from the glass, and this beauty hits the palate with medium to full-bodied richness, a seamless, elegant texture, nicely integrated acidity, and a great finish. It has both power and elegance and is just a beautiful wine. It should easily evolve for 15 years or more.
