The 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Clone 7 is one of the darker, riper wines in the range. Black cherry, plum, espresso, leather, licorice, dried herbs and chocolate fill out the wine's frame effortlessly. Expansive and creamy on the palate with terrific resonance, the 2017 is another impeccable wine from Chimney Rock.

Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Clone 7 gives up black cherries, mulberries, dusty soil and black currant pastilles scents with touches of red currant jelly, bay leaves and underbrush. Medium-bodied, it is a little hollow in the context of the rugged, chewy frame with delicate earthy and herbal characters, finishing a tad astringent.
The 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Clone 7 is a big wine. Crème de cassis, blood orange, mint and white flowers give the 2017 a decidedly exotic quality that is beguiling. Deep and flamboyantly ripe, the 2017 is decidedly extroverted, with tremendous personality.
