This is a homage to ancient vintages of Bin 620. Dark crimson. Glowing and powerful with smouldering power. Strong, medicinal cassis overtone. A tad pinched on the end. Still hard work! (JR)
First vintage 1966 … second vintage 2008. 51% Cabernet Sauvignon, 49% Shiraz. All from Penfolds' own vineyards. Delicious hot-chocolate aromas, cassis, dark yet open – offers a cellar-full of complexity, yet with more to come. The characters blend so well together, you couldn't ask for a happier marriage. (RH)
Rich and lots of acid. Vigorous. There is real energy here and it could actually be enjoyed already. (JR)
