2018 Marius Delarche - Pernand-Vergelesses Sous Fretille 1er Cru

From a site that was elevated to Premier Cru about 7 years ago, the 2018 Pernand-Vergelesses Blanc 1er Cru Sous Fretille was brought up mostly in older barrel (it spent a short amount of time in tank) and was bottled with no filtration. Beautiful baked apples, white flowers, and honeyed orange notes dominate the bouquet, and it's medium-bodied, with building minerality and a great finish. It shows the rounded, warmer style of the vintage yet still stays mineral-laced, pure, and elegant.
