Punteggio 96/100 · Da bere 2019-2039, Jeb Dunnuck, Jan 2019

From a collaboration between Dave Phinney and Greg Gorman sourced from the Lewelling Vineyard, the 2016 GKG Cabernet Sauvignon offers a classic, elegant style that’s very much in the style of the 2016 vintage. A blend of 96% Cabernet Sauvignon, 2% Cabernet Franc and the rest Merlot and Malbec, brought up in 40% new oak, its deep purple color is followed by a medium to full-bodied, nuanced Cabernet that has impressive notes of black raspberries, cassis, and purple iris. It shines for its purity of fruit, balance, and length, and is a beautiful, age-worthy Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon.

Punteggio 95/100 · Da bere 2019-2035, Lisa Perrotti-Brown MW, Wine Advocate, Oct 2018

A blend of 96% Cabernet Sauvignon, 2% Cabernet Franc, 1% Merlot and 1% Malbec from Llewelling Ranch, aged 21 months in 40% new French oak, the 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon is medium to deep garnet-purple colored and offers lovely scents of wilted roses, oolong tea and sandalwood with a core of cassis, baked plums and warm black cherries with touches of olives and lavender. Medium to full-bodied with a good solid foundation of grainy tannins and oodles of freshness, it delivers beautifully understated fruit and a harmonious finish. 400 cases produced.
