The 2018 Croix des Rouzes has a comparatively simple bouquet of predominantly red fruit, black truffle and a light seawater scent intermixed with tobacco. The palate is medium-bodied with sharp tannins, rather grainy in texture and attenuating a little toward the finish. Not a bad Pomerol by any means, though it does not really elicit excitement.

The 2018 Château Croix Des Rouzes is terrific, with a ripe, mouth-filling, full-bodied style that stays nicely balanced and fresh. Notes of chocolate-covered blueberries, tobacco, smoked earth, and spice dominate the bouquet, and it has velvety tannins, a creamy, decadent texture, and outstanding length. It should keep for a good decade or so.
The 2018 Croix des Rouzes is plump and racy, with generous dark fleshed fruit, chocolate, sweet spice and new leather. Forward and supple, the 2018 offers plenty of near-term appeal. Although not terribly complex, the 2018 is nicely balanced. Drink it over the next decade, give or take.
