2016 Rajat Parr Never Say Never Dead

The 2016 colorfully-named Cabernet Sauvignon Never Say Never is superb. Parr sourced fruit from a site in Coombsville to make this decidedly old-school leaning Cabernet. Inky and deep, with striking aromatic intensity and tons of savoriness, the 2016 captures that magical spot where a wine can be deep and powerful and yet also maintain terrific freshness and structure. This is a fabulous debut Cabernet Sauvignon, especially given that Raj Parr swore he would never make a Cabernet. Readers will have to be able to look past a touch of reduction. Beyond that, the 2016 is stellar and oozing with true character. It's as simple as that.
