A thrilling 2011 and up there with the 2010 quality- wise, the 2011 Beautiful Earth is 72% Syrah and the balance Grenache and Mourvedre. Gorgeously pure, fresh and focused, with knockout purity, it dishes out layers of blackberry, chocolate, smoke and floral undertones to go with a full-bodied and impeccably balance profile on the palate. Impressive any way you look at it, enjoy bottles over the coming 7-8 years. Drink now-2021. These 2010s and 2011s from McPrice are straight up fantastic. Very classy and pure, they all benefitted from substantial air time and deserve another year or two in the cellar. In addition to delivering rock-star quality, they also represent superb values. This is another Paso Robles producer who has consistently produced outstanding wines that remain more than reasonably priced given their quality. They merit serious attention! Tel. The Syrah-based 2011 Beautiful Earth has gorgeous intensity at first, with plenty of generosity in its blue and black-toned fruits. Then the heat kicks in, which is unusual for this vintage, but very much present in the glass. Spices, tobacco and licorice add some complexity on the finish, but ultimately, the 2011 doesn't have the balance of the best McPrice Myers wines.
