Very different than the ’07 and a blend of 60% Syrah, 32% Zinfandel, and 8% Merlot, the 2008 Écluse Improv Lock Vineyard shows rich, deep aromas of black and blue fruits, walnut oil, earth, licorice, and wet slate. Showing medium to full body, with solid purity, and a rich, balanced profile, this delicious wine should be consumed over the next 3 to 5 years.

Juicy, palate-staining black raspberry and blueberry flavors are given spine by juicy acidity and pick up a smoky quality with aeration. Smooth, broad and sweet, with lingering floral and spice notes.
