Punteggio 91/100 · Da bere 2013-2018, Jeb Dunnuck, Wine Advocate, Aug 2013

Made from declassified lots destined for McPrice’s Beautiful Earth and Altas Vinas (released under his McPrice Myers label), the 2010 Hand Over Fist is a blend of Grenache, Syrah and Mourvedre that comes from west side Paso Robles vineyards. Aged 20 months in French oak puncheons, it offers up a solid array of licorice, black fruits, earth and hints of leather to go with a medium to full-bodied, supple and beautifully balanced palate that carries juicy acidity and fine tannin. Another winner, it’s a rock- solid bottle of wine that will continue to drink nicely through 2018. Drink now-2018. These value-priced efforts are made by McPrice Myers and offer ridiculously good drinking for not much money. The wines are, generally speaking, upfront and fruit-loaded, yet always offer solid complexity, good richness and overall very well-made profiles. Tel. (805) 237-1245; www.barrel27-mcpricemyers.com

Punteggio 88/100 · Da bere 2013-2016, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Jul 2013

The 2010 Hand over Fist, a Grenache/Syrah/Mourvedre blend, is one of the few wines in this range that isn't fully put together. There is plenty of depth in the glass, but at the same time, the alcohol is a bit noticeable, which detracts from the wine's otherwise appealing personality.
