2005 Cass Vineyards & Winery Syrah

(includes 2% petite sirah) Saturated ruby color. Exotically perfumed aromas of cherry-cola, Asian spices and vanilla; the oak is pretty strong but so is the fruit. Broad, sweet raspberry and candied cherry flavors are firmed by fine-grained tannins, which seem to soften with air. Pliant, seductive and intriguingly pinot-like, with excellent finishing lift and clarity. This is delicious right now.
