Medium to full-bodied, bright and precise, it's one of the firmer, more compact wines in the range, amply endowed with powdery tannin—as often seems to be the case with Clerget's Mitans at this stage in its élevage. Clerget told me that he made one barrel of the 2019 Volnay Les Mitans 1er Cru. Unfortunately I could not taste it as the settled lees were blocking the tap on the day of my visit!
