The 2020 Volnay Village, from two lieux-dits, was completely de-stemmed and matured with 10% new oak. There are plush black plum and violet scents on the nose here, a little opaque at first, gaining clarity with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, quite fleshy and rounded with a plump, lightly spiced finish. Moderate length. This will do nicely, though now fireworks.
