Punteggio 93/100 · Da bere 2019-2025, Lisa Perrotti-Brown MW, Wine Advocate, Oct 2019

The 2017 Chardonnay Red Point has a very chalky, white pepper-laced nose over a core of fresh Golden Delicious apples, white peaches, cashews and cedar plus a hint of dill seed. Medium-bodied, the palate delivers mouth-filling stone fruit and apple flavors plus a racy line of freshness, finishing long and spicy. 372 cases produced.

Also brilliant, the 2017 Chardonnay Red Point Vineyard is slightly richer and more rounded, offering medium to full-bodied notes of stone fruits, toasted brioche, white flowers, and a liquid rock-like minerality. It’s rich, concentrated, and powerful, yet has terrific balance and length. This cuvée comes from vines planted in 1994 and a southeast facing vineyard in the Alexander Valley and spent 11 months in 44% new French oak. It too will keep for at least a decade.

Punteggio 94+/100 · Da bere 2021-2027, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, May 2019

The 2017 Chardonnay Red Point is powerful, inward and quite structured, with bright citrus and floral notes adding character. It is also the most reticent of these Chardonnays. While the other 2017s will drink well pretty much right out of the gate, the Red Point is going to need at least a year or two to be at its most expressive.
