1998 Domaine Pontifical Châteauneuf-du-Pape

This is a fine wine. The 1998 exhibits an attractively saturated dark ruby/purple color, in addition to a vibrant cherry/blackberry fruit-scented bouquet with undertones of seaweed, salty ocean breezes, and freshly crushed pepper. Pure and uncommonly elegant for the vintage, this is a nicely layered, medium to full-bodied, creamy-textured effort.
