1995 Matanzas Creek Merlot Sonoma Valley

The 1995 Merlot was more impressive prior to bottling. The color is dark plum, and the nose is restrained and straightforward. The wine does offer some coffee, underbrush, dried herb, and cherry fruit in a medium-bodied, attractive, but uninspiring style. Less concentrated than previous efforts, it is a good Merlot that should continue to drink well for 5-7 years. Tel. (707) 528-6464
