Note di degustazione
Bright red with ruby tones. Very ripe, dark aromas of black cherry, cassis and blueberry, with a violet note emerging with air. Concentrated and thick, with its flavors of blackberry, violet pastille and Sen-Sen lifted by a peppery quality. I find this more harmonious than the 2016 version, and showing much deeper fruit than a sample I tasted from barrel in late 2016.

(from vines planted in 1947): Bright dark red. Wild aromas of black raspberry, black cherry, violet and leather. In a rather tough, tight style compared to virtually all of Lignier's other village wines in 2015, showing little sign of sweetness to its black cherry and leather flavors. Nicely concentrated but very backward, finishing with substantial dusty tannins. Will this wine blossom in bottle? I'm not confident.
The 2015 Nuits St Georges les Poisets, from a parcel purchased by the domaine in 2010, has a floral bouquet with subtle limestone scents emerging through the cassis and black cherry fruit. There is something very "Vosne" in style here. The palate is medium-bodied with crisp acidity, a little gritty on the entry, but then it smooths out towards the finish with black cherries, a touch of blueberry and a dash of spice. It feels composed and harmonious, a wine that should give 10+ years of pleasure.
A new acquisition; one long, narrow parcel of very old vines. Very heady – more fruit than Nuits energy on the nose. Smooth – as though its edges have been filed down. Dry end. (JR)
